The very first title earned at Gunwise was my Lady “Spandool Silver Wisper. CD” On the 30/4/1983. In 1980 I had become a Novice Obedience Instructor, and then an Open and U.D. instructor.

Meanwhile my first Golden Retriever Flame

“CH. Gwynell Flamboyant.CD.” had also attained her CD.

Later I worked for a kennel in western Sydney as a professional dog trainer and obedience instructor, where those dogs deemed as “untrainable” by Obedience Clubs, were trained to nearly “Obedience Trial’ level within two weeks! I became head instructor of Blacktown Kennel and Training Club for a year, and also trained new instructors for that Club. At that time I had my own “Pet Supplies” business so my own dogs training took a back seat for a while. But I still enjoyed professionally instructing private lessons and classes on the weekends for many years.

The theme song for obedience is “Follow that Dream”.

Quote.
In order to really enjoy a dog, one doesn't merely train him to be semi-human. The point of it is to open oneself to the possibility of becoming partly a dog.

**Past Obedience Stars**

Aust.CH.Gunwise Total Eclipse. CD.

2/10/1981 - 1995.
CH.Cabal The Luv Machine x Spandool Silver Wisper CD.
Corey had to have a holiday from shows to get his C.D. as the old man refused to let me change the rules.  You see in the show ring "stand" meant "in front and show", but in obedience it means "stand in the heel position". Well not 'Corey', as he would stomp  into the "show" position and give me the dirtiest LOOK!  So stand became "easy" and he soon attained his CD.

183 pts. and second in Novice Ring was at
the Wollondilly A.B.K.C.Inc. on 5/6/1998.
That year he was "Novice Dog of the Year"
of the Cocker Spaniel Soc. of NSW.
